Dawn
Game: Trio of Towns
Gender: Nonbinary (they/she)
Age: 21 initially (they age as time goes on)
Height: 5'9"
Farm: Sunrize Farm
SO: Wayne
If there were two things that Dawn's adoptive parents knew about them, it was that they loved farm animals and tragically did not perform well in a school setting. Studying was never easy for Dawn unless it had anything to do with animals, and their performance only worsened due to the rapidity at which Dawn's family had to move for her father, Daryl's, work. It became easier on Dawn when her next door neighbor, the older, kinder Frieda, helped her with understanding difficult assignments she was given in middle school.
In the middle of Dawn's freshman year, Frieda moved away to Oak Tree Town, and the distress of her being suddenly gone only worsened Dawn's performance, and they had to repeat their freshman year; they were able to somehow make it through when reuniting with a middle school classmate, Sasha, in which they bonded over being the only students who weren't cisgender.
Once they finally graduated at 19, Dawn had a feeling that college was not really a possibility, not that they were particularly eager about the idea. The idea of living out on her own seemed well enough, preferably to leave behind these feelings of inadequacy, though they couldn't find any reason to leave. Two years later, it "dawn"ed on her - her Uncle Frank had his own farm, perhaps she could live on one, too! Her father was against the idea, and after much arguing acquiesced, but only to let Dawn attempt it before she would inevitably fail. But so far, that hasn't seemed to happen, despite misspelling "sunrise" on her farm deed.
Dawn's pride and joy are her livestock, though she does feel much accomplishment in her crops, handing them to her neighbors regardless of whether or not they asked for it. Initially afraid to ask her uncle for help, lest he report to her father she wasn't doing well (he would never), she asked a lot of help of her old neighbor, Frieda, over Facetime. She also likes to give advice to her cousin Cassia and old classmate Sasha, sometimes conflating how much she actually knows, but is always willing to be a listening ear.
She has a tendency to influence others just by her personality, one of which being Westown's postman, Wayne. He appreciated having a new neighbor with such a positive attitude, even if they were strange, and found himself wondering what they were up to. Most of the time, he didn't even have to wonder, as Dawn would stop by several days a week just to talk during his lunch break. Something about the earnestness of this farmer made Wayne more susceptible to share things about himself he wouldn't tell anyone else, and something about how she looked standing next to a starlit evening sky made him feel he wanted to give the world to her. As Dawn held his hand, something in her made her feel the same, and the feeling in both of them has never swayed.
Esther is her stinky sort-of brother. She loves him even though he's stinky.
Additional Info
Her favorite farm animals are cows; she has a dairy cow and a Jersey cow. She also has a Great Pyrenees.
Vocabulary was never their strong suit, so they often learn words from Ford that one would learn in middle school science. In addition, she often mixes words up, and the word she is mistaking means something else (ie, mistaking vertebrae for vertebrate, when the word she is actually looking for is invertebrate)
They aren't good with being yelled at, crying so much as when someone raises their voice at them.
